Helen Woodward Animal Center holds the passionate belief that animals help people and people help animals through trust, unconditional love, and respect, which creates a legacy of caring. Sharing this philosophy with others, the Center inspires and teaches, locally and globally, the importance of the animal-human bond. The Center is a nonprofit organization that does not receive any government funding. All of the funding generated by the Center to run our programs comes through fee- for-service programs (like our camps) or fundraising campaigns which target corporations, individuals, and foundations.
In addition to an innovative Adoptions program that finds homes for close to 3,000 animals per year, Helen Woodward Animal Center provides unique animal-centered therapeutic programs for children and adults with special needs, including the Therapeutic Riding, Pet Encounter Therapy, and AniMeals programs. We also offer humane education programs for children of all ages and an on-site training program for animal welfare personnel throughout the country to learn how to stop the killing and save lives by running their organization as a business.
The Center also boasts two state-of-the-art animal hospitals - one for equines and the other for small animals, as well as a high-quality boarding facility.
